Tuesday, November 5, 2024 — MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, 7 pm
NEC FC will be determined to bounce back after a tough 1-0 defeat to Lugazi when they face Police FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium tonight.
This match opens the Uganda Premier League’s (UPL) eighth round, with NEC aiming to reclaim their position at the league summit.
NEC’s head coach, Hussein Mbalangu, is focused on moving forward. “We can’t dwell on the past, and so we have moved on from that loss,” he shared. “The boys are mentally fit, and playing at home, we’ll aim to bounce back.”
Currently third with 15 points, NEC has a chance to overtake KCCA, who sit at the top with 17 points, if they secure a win. However, they will face stiff competition from a strong Police side, currently seventh with 10 points. Police head into the match with renewed confidence, following their recent 2-1 victory over Mbale Heroes.
