In a thrilling day of StarTimes Uganda Premier League action, URA FC secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Mbale Heroes, thanks to a hat-trick from Ivan Ahimbisibwe at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC staged a comeback to defeat SC Villa 2-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Ahimbisibwe opened the scoring for URA in the ninth minute, heading in a cross from the right. He added his second just seven minutes later, capitalizing on a fumble by Mbale Heroes goalkeeper Paul Mujampwani.

Ahimbisibwe completed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute with a well-controlled finish inside the penalty box.

Amisi Bwangani sealed the dominant victory with a long-range strike just before the hour mark.

This was URA’s second win in four matches, propelling them to third place with seven points, three behind league leaders KCCA FC.

Mbale Heroes, on the other hand, sit in 12th place with just three points.

In Kitende, SC Villa briefly led after Elvis Kiwanuka’s 36th-minute strike, but Vipers quickly responded when Yunus Sentamu scored just two minutes later.

Rogers Torach secured the win for Vipers with a 53rd-minute goal, ensuring they joined URA on seven points, sitting in fourth place due to goal difference.

SC Villa’s second defeat of the season leaves them in ninth place with six points, as they continue their quest for consistency.

The action continues Sunday as Maroons take on Lugazi FC before the league pauses for the FIFA international break.
