The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) president, Moses Alysaed Lubega, has announced that the association’s elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on November 30, 2024.

Speaking during the association’s monthly meeting at the Uganda Olympic Committee, Lubega reassured members that USPA is making progress, with several initiatives in the works.

He highlighted that the association had paused to renegotiate contracts to secure better deals for members, and that key events such as the Plascon Awards, monthly awards, and the annual gala will return early next year.

Lubega also mentioned that all previous award winners will receive their due prizes, and new partners, including the National Lotteries and Gaming Board, are expected to collaborate with USPA.

In addition, Lubega emphasized the importance of discipline within the association and vowed to address any misconduct that tarnishes USPA’s image.

He noted that debts incurred before the current administration have been cleared, and the association has secured scholarships for members from Clarke International University, with ongoing negotiations for secondary school scholarships for members’ children.
