SC Villa got their second round off to a winning start as they beat MYDA FC 2-1 away from home.

Goals from Muhammad Ssenoga and Derrick Ndahiro proved enough for the visitors while Amos Kirya netted MYDA’s consolation.

MYDA fought their hearts out and missed a penalty in the first half but could not avoid defeat in the end.

Villa raced into an early lead as Ssenoga pounced on a lose ball in the area to rifle in from close range.

At the stroke of halftime, Ndahiro made it 2-0 after collecting from Nicholas Kabonge and side footing past Andrew Ssekandi in the MYDA goal.

Despite being 2-0 down, the hosts never lost hope and continued to attack the Villa goal.

Their efforts were rewarded 16 minutes from time as Kirya took advantage of Meddie Kibirige’s poor handling to poke home from close range.

Villa, however, held on for all three points in the end to register their eighth win of the campaign.

The win sees Villa climb into 4th with 28 points from 16 games.

For MYDA, they stay in 15th with just six points gathered throughout the entire campaign.
