We have not sacked McKinstry - FUFA

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has come out to suggest that reports in the media about Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry’s sacking are not true.

On Saturday evening, several websites reported that the North Irishman had been fired, something that FUFA claims in not true.

They made the communication through a press release which was released on Saturday night.

“Our dear football stakeholders, FUFA has not taken any decision as reported in various media outlets regarding the status of Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry.” Read the press release.

McKinstry has just resumed duty earlier this month after a month-long suspension that saw Abdallah Mubiru take charge temporarily.

He took over in 2019 following Sebastian Desbare’s departure after the AFCON finals in Cameroon.
