Bafana Bafana coach test positive for COVID-19 ahead of Cranes clash

Janevski was expected to deputize Hugo Broos on the touch-line

The Bafana Bafana assistant coach Cedomir Janevski is the latest to be ruled out of the friendly match against Uganda on Wednesday, June 10.

The Macedonian deputy to Hugo Broos who was supposed to be on the touch-line becomes the four individual that will have to sit out the contest.

Broos, Percy Tau and Mokoena Teboho all tested positive in the past few days and will also not be part of both the technical team and playing staff.

Broos is understood to have already departed for Belgium for his latest COVID-19 vaccination.

Sipho Mbule who was in contact with Teboho will also not take part in the game as precautionary measure.

Former Bafana Bafana player Helmon Mkhalele is expected to be on the touch-line when the two teams face off at the Orlando Stadium.

Uganda is already in South Africa for the game having landed on Monday afternoon before former captain and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango paid them a visit.

South Africa duo of Ismail Watenga and Moses Waiswa joined the team on Tuesday and took part in the final training session at the Orlando Stadium.

Uganda has a 23-man squad that will face the Bafana Bafana.
