Ahead of their National Basketball League (NBL) debut, Namuwongo Basketball Club alias Nam Blazers have sealed a sponsor partnership with Motorola and Radiotrans through Samanga Solutions.

This development was confirmed on Thursday in Kampala with the Motorola gestures  set to be emblazoned on the front of the team’s jersey.

“NBL needs a financial muscle. This upcoming season in particular needs a financial boost because of the costs of managing operations in Covid-19 times.

That’s why we are very grateful to have Motorola and and Radiotrans through Samanga Solutions on board,” Nam Blazers Head of Operations Hajji Zinda Farouk said at the sponsor unveiling event adding that the boost comes at a much needed time.

After about a one year hiatus, domestic basketball is set to tip-off on 2nd April 2021 and Zinda says that their side are set to storm the top tier league with a bang.

For Motorola, their decision to partner with Nam Blazers is because they have been following the team’s progress for the past few years and will possibly be a formidable side to join hands with.

“We have closely followed and witnessed this team’s growth for more than two years and we can all agree that what they have achieved in such a short span is breathtaking. We expect the team to keep growing as it is aligned in their vision and we simply want to contribute to that growth,” Samanga Solutions Managing Director – George Nkya said.

The side that will be coached by Stephen Nyeko Escorata also unveiled six new players, that is; 2019 NBL MVP – Syrus Kiviri (Betway Power), Chris Omanye (Pemba Warriors), David Dikong (UCU Canons), Francis Azolibe (City Oilers), Soro Geofrey (30 Plus – Rwanda) and Daniel Juuko (JKL Dolphins).
