In a bid to protect its members from the deadly second wave of Covid-19, Entebbe Club has issued new guidelines to be followed by all golfers and staff in an attempt to curb the possible spread of the pandemic.

On Sunday, 6th June, among others, President Yoweri Museveni banned fans from any sports event as a Covid-19 preventive measure during his televised address to the nation on the way forward following the sharp rise of confirmed positive cases.

In reaction to the same, Entebbe Club Chairman Oscar Semawere has revealed that they have also adopted new measures that will be followed during this period of the partial lockdown.

“For now, only members are accessing the club. We are going to have routine testing of club house workers,” Semawere said.

“No caddies will be on course when golfers are playing, we shall only have ball spotters to avoid contact,” Semawere noted adding that; “entrances to the club are strictly manned with saniters and thermometers being in place at all times.”

The club bar is closed and refreshment point closes at 7: 00 p.m, and for now sitting isn’t allowed at the club house

Members intending to have a round of golf at the club’s par-71 course are urged to book their tee off times.

Semawere also revealed that the club will be revising SOPs from time to time.

The new measures also imply that the club will not be able to hold tournaments at the moment.
