MYDA FC hosts Busoga with both sides eyeing victor

Busoga United beat MYDA FC 1-2 in the first meeting this season

MYDA FC will play host to Busoga United at the King George IV Memorial Stadium in the only Uganda Premier League games slated for Friday, May 14.

Both teams will be hoping for three points after drawing in their last games earlier in the week.

MYDA, through Paul Musamali equ1lized late to draw 1-1 away to UPDF FC in Bombo while Busoga United could not hold off 10-man Wakiso Giants FC in a similar score line at Njeru.

MYDA heads in to the game without victory in their past five games (D2 L3) while Busoga have lost only one in their last five (W1 D3).

The reverse fixture in Njeru ended 1-0 in favour of Busoga thanks to substitute Shaka Ssozi’s sole goal in what was the Students’ first victory of the season.

MYDA welcomes back Stephen Okello after missing out in the last game due to suspension while Solomon Babyesiza is still sidelined with a knee injury. Andrew Ssekandi is expected to get the nod ahead of first-choice goalkeeper Isaac Osikol.

The visitors will be without goalkeeper Micheal Nantamu and Paul Ssekulima are both out due to an injury, Douglas Muganga is off for the national duty with the Sand Cranes while Ivan Wani and Isma Mugulusi will be subjected to a late fitness test.

MYDA start the day in 15th place with 11 points while Busoga are in 13th with 26 points. Both sides have played 23 games so far.
