Uganda Premier League – Sunday Result: URA 0 – 1 Express

Forward George Senkaaba scored the only goal of the game as Express FC beat URA FC 0 – 1 during the Sunday fixture of the Uganda Premier League 2020/21 season at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

Senkaaba who was making his first start for the Red Eagles struck a decent volley in the box just after 11 minutes of play.

Skipper Enock Walusimbi was close to doubling Express lead in the 40th minute but his effort was denied the back of the net by the wood work.

Shafic Kagimu almost leveled matters in the 51st minute but Express custodian Mathias Muwanga was equal to the task. Issa Lamu later cleared URA corner which was almost not a threat to the Red Eagles.

With both sides shooting blanks later in the second half, changes were made but Express held on to the lead with goal scorer Senkaaba getting replaced in the 84th minute by Frank Kalanda after picking a knock.

With four minutes to end of normal time, Godfrey Lwesibawa almost got a second for Express but the ‘Tax collectors’ custodian Hannington Ssebalunyo’s quick reflexes ensured that Express causes no further damage.

With four minutes added to normal time, Express goalie, Muwanga was booked for wasting time in the 93rd minute.

The win implies that Express end URA unbeaten run in the league whilst keeping theirs intact.

After six games, Express now have 12 points, winning three games and drawing on three occasions.
