She Cranes defeated Namibia to register their maiden victory at the Tri-Nations on Thursday evening.

Having lost to South Africa the day before, the She Cranes were rampant as they took care of the Desert Jewels 49-28 in Cape Town.

They took the first quarter 12-06 before ensuring they went into the first half with a five goal lead at 22-17.

The third was a more one sided contest as Uganda put out a defensive masterpiece to limit Namibia to just four goals as they took it 15-04 to head into the final quarter leading 37-21.

There was no difference in the fourth quarter as Uganda continued to press Namibia to claim a 49-28 victory.

She Cranes’ Joan Nampungu was named the player-of-the-match for her performance on the day.

Uganda returns to action on Saturday against the Baby Proteas who are South Africa’s second team.
