Uganda Cup – Quarter Finals
Wakiso Giants vs Police FC
Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakisha
Thursday, 27-05-2021 @3:30pm

Fireworks will be expected at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium when Wakiso Giants host Police FC in the first leg of their Uganda Cup quarter final.

The two sides clashed in an ill-tempered game in the league, at the start of the month, one that saw two Police goals disallowed before Wakiso won 3-1.

Wakiso will go into the contest as favorites to win Uganda Cup as they have been on a good run of form, of late.

The Purple Sharks are unbeaten in their last eight matches, winning five and drawing the other three.

They have already convincingly eliminated two Big League sides in the past round, taking care of Water FC and Tooro United in the round of 32 and 16 respectively.

For Police, they come into the game on a six-match winless streak, losing four and drawing the other two.

To reach this stage, Police has eliminated Calvary FC and Bright Stars FC in the round of 32 and 16 respectively.

Despite the poor run of form, Police head coach Abdallah Mubiru is optimistic going into the game on Thursday.

“We thank God for enabling us go through our preparations successfully. Our target is to ensure everyone is at their best to deliver as we want to get a good result in Wakiso so as to be able to negotiate the tie. We have several players coming back from fitness issues and i am sure we will be able to get the job done.” Mubiru said in his pre-match interview.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two side with Police winning twice, Wakiso once and the other ending in a goalless draw.
