UPL: BUL Beats KCCA As Police Ease Past Kyetume

Uganda Premier League

Friday Results

BUL 2 – 1 KCCA

Police 3 – 1 Kyetume

Mbarara City 0 – 1 Wakiso

Onduparaka 1 – 1 Busoga

BUL FC and Police FC picked impressive home wins in the Friday fixtures of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) 2020/21 season.

At the Kyabazinga Bugembe Stadium in Jinja, BUL condemned KCCA FC to a 2 – 1 defeat after a dominant display in the earlier stages of the game.

Former KCCA forward Musa Esenu returned to haunt his former bosses after earning BUL a first half lead following his 35th minute strike.

Two minutes into the second half, Robert Mukongotya earned BUL a double lead.

KCCA got a chance to pull one back in the 81st minute through a spot kick but Brian Aheebwa missed it, a chance he regreted failing to utilize when Charles Lwanga headed in at stoppage time, a goal that would have made the Kasasiro Boys share spoils on the road.

In Lugogo, Police FC scored thrice against Kyetume FC who only replied once. Brian Muruli, Johnson Odong and Muwada Mawejje were on the score sheet for Police whilst Baker Buyala scored Kyetume’s consolation.

The triumph means that Police top the UPL table off 13 points, one point ahead of UPDF FC who face Vipers SC on Saturday.

Kipson Atuheire scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute as Wakiso Giants beat Mbarara City at their own backyard. The home side failed to level matters in the 84th minute after Jude Ssemugabi missed from the spot.
